Random observation: Chloé is the anti-Balmain

Hannah MacGibbon’s spring ‘09 collection for Chloé ended up being a sleeper hit. It was overshadowed by the Balmain’s of the world and doesn’t necessarily have one key, celebrity-worshiped item of the season. Not that Hannah doesn’t have a celeb-following too (see Chloe Sevigny below.) But I’ve been seeing her influence all over the high street stores (and on the women shopping in them) lately in subtle ways, such as soft, tailored trousers; cuffed shorts; bow belts; and wispy blouses in nude colors.

But this look gets the thumbs down from me just for that half top with the suit.
