My red lips have a power beyond words. When I put on the perfect, crimson, creme-based color, I instantly get a kick of extra confidence. It never fails to make me feel amazing and when you consider how trying 2009 was, that is saying a lot. But maybe it’s just me. So I asked a few friends to make sure I’m not living in a bubble. They all agreed that a red lip gives off a certain confidence and sex appeal. We’re clearly not the only ones who feel this way. During the Great Depression, the Lipstick Effect, as I like to call it, gave a boost to women on tight budgets who looked at it as a small luxury. My favorite shade at the moment is M.A.C. Ruby Woo and I suggest you try it too. It’s one of those versatile reds that work with virtually every skin tone. I’ll definitely be rocking it throughout 2010. Happy New Year!
