Never mind the more subdued utilitarian direction Consuelo Castiglioni’s pre-fall collection hinted at, her autumn separates were back to her usual whimsically printed tricks. Highlights included a salmon colored sleeveless top and bermuda short set that featured embroidered and sequined circular appliqués in lavender and a very retro, furry black and ivory floral printed dress paired with knee-high stockings. And yup, the clothes looked about as difficult to pull off as it sounds in print. (Not just any body type can rock lavender and salmon bermuda shorts, after all.) But that’s also the charm of Consuelo’s work. Her’s are clothes for the girls’ girl who gets dressed purely for her own enjoyment.
